I watched the great speech of Mr. Netanyahu- “ BIBI” at the UN in New York and YES.. it was an amazing awe inspiring and thought provoking speech… you can’t argue much on the logic or the reasoning… except for one very small thing…in fact the whole pivot - the whole tenet of his argument …
“ WE WIN BECAUSE WE HAVE NO CHOICE!” - ( this is the entire justification of Israel as the one and only Jewish state and the reasoning that explains political Zionism)
YES… in that situation you have no choice..it’s life or death, win or lose… survive or be exterminated .. but what if i was to tell you that there is always a choice…? What if i was to tell you that your choices lead to freedom or to slavery.. ? You can choose to stay in bed or get out of it… you can choose to be an asshole or be a nice guy..you can actually choose a BIGGER vision than a smaller one… and you can choose LIGHT over darkness.
There is always a choice.. and To WIN…it’s always better to choose better than worse. The lesser of the two evils rather than the greater. It’s your free will and your decision to make. You can choose not to eat pork .. and not to work on Saturday… why? Because you have a guidebook called the bible.. the Torah..the instructions. Of god. So we can choose to follow the 10 commandments… or we can choose not to.
We CHOOSE not to kill or NOT to defend … or we choose simply to walk away. What then is moral courage when you are faced with incredible numbers vastly superior to yours? Do you stand and fight ..or do you run?
Well.. Jews all over the world have decided to STOP running… and defend the homeland that God has allegedly given them to Joshua via Moses.. but in the promised land we have refined Jews that spent 40 years getting redeemed in the desert. Why is it then that in the Israel of today there’s a lot of unrefined and u redeemed people living in this holy land? To some Jews the political Israel is not the true Israel of God..to some Christian’s it is not the true Israel either… but according to what the bible says… it is the root that support the tree. And therefore in all of its failings and weaknesses the Israel that exists today is a stepping stone to the Israeli of Tomorrow.
So the brave stand side by side.. and fight against the ones that would swallow them whole.. they fight against the lies , deceptions and manipulations of people and the media ( especially the mainstream media) who continue to brainwash the masses to hate Israelis and Jews.
But where do we take responsibility and ask ourselves the simple question..if you want peace so much … why wont you fight for it ? Why wont you actually INVEST in it… it’s easy to stand in a crowd and get energy from each other and get courageous… but what if you act alone ? What if you face a mob of 200 or so people with only the NAME of GOD as your only defense ,..and you win? What if you leave a country because you do not believe in fighting a war to defend apartheid as i did when i left South Africa in 1982…and hitch hiked all the way overland to London. Or what if alone i travelled to Muslim countries to create peace gatherings with no budget… and invited the entire world … what if over 50 years of travel around the Earth I have proved that people can actually co exist despite their differences?
And yes.. it’s hard.. but as one Orthodox Jew told me once ..true peace will only come when the temple is rebuilt and the messiah returns. ( or comes the first times - you can read it both ways). I decided after consulting with a prophet in Jerusalem to go to the only country in Africa that has a Christian constitution - ZAMBIA… and attempt to build a replica of king Solomon’s temple.. next to the Congo… then I realised ..we are the temple of the living God and don’t need a physical one of stone. But that action attracted the energy required to reopen the Israeli embassy… why ? Because Jewish people are safe in that country. As they should be safe anywhere.. but the point is… I did this alone. Not with a battalion or a platoon.. and with moral authority i can say..you have the choice to be afraid… or not.. i have played with black mamba snakes, lions and gorillas and touched wild elephants… i have faced down murderous people and mobs… and i can honestly say no matter how much the hatred.. you always have a choice.. to be afraid to allow fear to dominate your decisions..or not. The way forward is to be bold because fortune favors the bold and this is why the walls and the fences must come down… and people must learn to breathe the same air..
In Pretoria and other places around South Africa you can still see paraplegics who fought in the Angolan war and are forgotten. As you can meet Vietnam vets travelling on freight trains.. or homeless on a sand Francisco street. California the fifth richest country in the world still cannot solve that human problem and deflect by calling it ..socialism..
No. The truth will set you free. I chose not to join the army and go to Angola… i chose not to study the apartheid law and instead study people… i chose to defend myself against all false allegations and win… after 4 years… incarcerated, bullied, pilloried… and bruised.
But some people choose the easy way out and grab a gun.. imagine if you couldn’t do that today?
Imagine that yes.. the land of Israel belongs to the ones who are counted righteous and holy… not to a bloodline..nit to a race… but to a truth. Imagine that this holy land stretches from the Nile river to the Euphrates and includes Sinai and Lebanon and Jordan..and Syria and goes right up to another modern creation..Iraq.
Imagine if you will not a two state solution unless you want to give a made up state called Jordan to the people of Palestine as they number 60% of that country.. imagine then if you will that in a country called Bosnia they decided to live together .. and have like they did in South Africa and truth and reconciliation commission ( my x Fiona Bruce worked alongside judge goldstone..) and imagine the now Bosnia & herzagivnia..was a UNITED STATES OF ISRAEL AND PALESTINE ? - who would say no ?
Easy..the ones who say.. “ we have no choice!”
It’s so easy really… on both sides… blood begets blood..violence begets violence… hate begets hate..
that’s why we in South Africa we chose peace over war..reconciliation over retaliation and light over darkness..
and this is truly better an option than the peel commission which lacked vision and better than a solitary singular Israeli or Palestine.. i imagine the Bedouin would vote to join that federation as would many in the current day Jordan and Lebanon and Syria of Palestinian descent.. and yes.. imagine there is no domination of one faith over another..and all must become holy on the holy land… or simply go away…
It is a choice we can all make … by limiting ourselves to ONE choice we deprive ourselves of the possibilities of more choices..and by winning together we all win.
That’s true moral courage. Having the ability to choose. Sometimes the harder choice is the best one.
