Moses asks - who are you ? God said : I am that I am ! So this means that God is a being that in effect says something and had the final say. There is no debate with Him.
And that's what he discovered. So how do we interpret what he says - God and what he doesn't say?
Because this God speaks through spoken and written words. Many of these are in the torah. But other texts believe they took have the God of final words. Hence we end up in genocide.
Which is not ideal. When we start arguing who is right who is wrong.. who does this land belong to and who does it not.. we end up in genocide.
And its a big problem today. One that we have to resolve either by killing everyone opposed to us... Or by listening to what the other one has to say and letting them have the right to say it.
Sadly... In both arenas. We are not there yet. And how to get there . We are not. And to get there we may have to witness rivers of blood.
Or not. It's really up to the ones with the fingers on the button.
