Obama said it was a tragic event..but didnt say sorry. so he is saying... america did the right thing..and were japan in the steering seat - or hiler - or stalin.. most likely they would have done the same to new york or Los Angelse..america was lucky cause they got it first..thats all.
but ... if it was you or me on the buton... would you press the button?
knowing that you would have to live with the horror of what you had caused?
gandhi said that he would have prayed for the pilot..and even if he was the pilot .. he would not press the button.
of course ... roosevelt could have used conventional bombing and saved americans from going to engage..it would hve taken around 6 months onger to bomb them into submission...
and probably another 6 months to get them to say ..surrender...
so the same objecive could have been achieved..all evidence shows that they were willing to surrender at the time anyway...
just a few hard cases.
in any case ...human lives i believe could have been saved...
but the horror of nuclear weapons was proven to the world. for all time..and perhaps by dropping it on hiroshima it stopped a war between russia and america later during the cuban missle crisis.
perhaps that very knowledge was the tipping point.
we do not know...

in any case... i dont believe jesus as i know him would have dropped the bomb.
thats my opinion.
we are just flesh and blood... human. weak.
i think if we try to emulate what jesus would do in our lives the world may think we are weak...
